WHAT IS EPLY PANGUAPUREGLUE™?
PanguaPureGlue™ is our NAF (no added formaldehyde) plywood, manufactured by Panguaneta from their own FSC® certified plantation grown timber and utilises an innovative, non-toxic, soy bonding system. This bonding system replaces toxic urea formaldehyde and phenolic glues found in regular plywood with award-winning soy based bonding technology.
Wall and ceiling lining, joinery and furniture made from PanguaPureGlue™ is the healthy solution for projects like hospitals, houses, schools, childcare centres and more.

The environmental benefits of PanguaPureGlue™ begin in Panguaneta’s own FSC® certified poplar plantations where sustainable harvesting assures the long-term health of the land; the harvesting of the wood is FSC certified – the mark of responsible forestry.
Each tree is a clone, ie it is grown from a cutting of a tree that has been found to have exceptional properties of stability, strength, light weight and homogeneity, perfect for manufacturing high grade plywood with a minimum of waste and well suited to growing in the flood prone plains of the Po valley.
Scrap material is recycled for fuel and residual material sold for use as mulch, etc. Our soy-based, formaldehyde-free technology means that not only the end user, but also the people making the plywood enjoy a healthier environment. PanguaPureGlue™ contains no additional formaldehyde to what exists naturally in the wood itself.

RAW MATERIALS
Cultivation
Thanks to the rapid vegetative cycle (8 – 10 years), poplar makes for a safe and economic agronomic practice.
Poplar, with a planting density varying between 6 x 6m and 7 x 7m up to 7 x 8m, grows from 25 to 35 cm per year.
A hectare cultivated with a ten year cycle produces 250 tons of wood. A cubic metre of wood is equivalent to a reduction of 1 ton of CO2; in 12 years, a 1 hectare poplar grove purifies 41,500 m3 of water. On average, each mature poplar gives: 500kg slices (for plywood processing), 100kg sub-slices (generally used for pallets) and 300kg chips, to be used as biomass for energy production.
Traceability
The ISO 9000 system
PanguaPureGlue™ plywood is manufactured according to the ISO 9000 quality system. In particular, each panel is fully traceable in terms of raw material, physical characteristics and processing.
The Traceability Code
At the end of the processing cycle each panel is assigned an alphanumeric code printed on one of the edges. The code includes different sub-codes; relating to each aspect of the product, ie: manufacture date, raw material, product type, grade, bonding type, size etc.
FSC® (FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL) CERTIFIED
The FSC label indicates that the wood used in the production of PanguaPureGlue™ originates from responsibly managed forests and plantations according to strict environmental, social and economic standards.
AIR
Like all rapidly growing species, poplar has a remarkable capacity to purify the air, by absorbing from the atmosphere approximately 70 – 140 litres of carbon dioxide per hour and releasing the same quantity of oxygen. It also acts as a carbon sink once it has been converted into finished products
WATER
Poplar is able to distil water, which is absorbed from soil and then released pure into the atmosphere through transpiration. Moreover, poplar is used to create buffer areas in agricultural lands near waterways, to assist in the absorption of nitrates and prevent water eutrophication.
SOIL AND LANDSCAPE
Another environmental merit of poplar is its use for windbreaks, erosion control and soil desertification, the increase in the biodiversity of natural habitats and the undeniable enhancement of the landscape.
FORMALDEHYDE EMISSION STANDARDS
PanguaPureGlue™ responds to new global regulations restricting formaldehyde emissions from interior wood products with the goal of improving indoor air quality.
Formaldehyde has been classified as a known human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.
PanguaPureGlue™ is certified by third party institutes to have formaldehyde emissions below 0.004 ppm (0.04 mg/L). The panels meet or exceed AS/NZS E0, California Air Resource Board CARB 2 and Japanese Industry (JIS) F★★★★ formaldehyde emission standards.
